This policy explains how Masakali ("we", "us") collects and uses personal data when you visit our website or contact us. We are the data controller for the information you provide.

What we collect

Enquiries and bookings: when you complete a contact form, sign up to our newsletter, or make a reservation, we collect details such as your name, email address, phone number, the date and party size where you give them, and any message you send.

Usage data: we collect anonymous analytics about how the site is used (for example pages viewed and general location) to help us improve it. Before you make a cookie choice, Google's tags run in a restricted, cookieless mode: they send aggregate measurement signals that do not store or read anything on your device and do not identify you. Cookies are only set, and advertising data only stored, once you accept.

How we use it

To respond to your enquiry, manage your booking, send you our newsletter where you have opted in, and to understand and improve how the website performs.

Our lawful bases are your consent (newsletter, and analytics and advertising cookies), and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, running our business and measuring the website in a way that does not identify you.

Who we share it with

We use trusted service providers to run the site and our communications, including OpenTable (reservations), Resend (email delivery), Google (website analytics and advertising) and Meta (advertising). Meta's tools load only if you accept cookies. Google's load on every page but stay in the restricted, cookieless mode described above until you accept. These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms.

We do not sell your personal data.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and booking information only as long as needed to deal with your request and for our legitimate business records, then delete it. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict its use, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
